I can't even explain to you how much I love to smell and stare at these irises. I'm sure in part it's their one of a kind grape scent but a large part is the sentimentality that's tied to them. They're transplants from my parents home that my dad originally dug up from dilapidated apartments down the street. He lovingly thinned his out knowing how much I love them, to give to me.
Why is it that everything your daddy gives you is so special. Even if it's something small like a cup of coffee. Our relationship hasn't always been perfect but there has always been so much love. My dad overcame one of the worst alcohol addictions I have ever seen several years ago. My dad several months ago gave his life over to Christ. I'm not talking about some half hearted prayer, I'm talking Holy Spirit, hands laying, reads the bible, can't get enough type experience. I could go on and on bragging and trying to stress how great of a guy I think he is but the main thing I want to say is don't wait until your family is perfect to love them. Love them where they're at maybe they'll come around maybe they won't but you won't have any wasted years this way. Maybe this even means letting them know you'll love them from a distance but love them.
"9
Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good.
10
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." -Hebrews 12:9&10
"Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it." Prov 3:27
I really feel like all of this life is meant to share. Why hold in what you have learned in your experiences? God gives you your story for a reason. Now go share it and help make someone feel not so alone.
